About Again

Again makes carbon negative chemicals for a cleaner future. We are the first carbon negative chemical manufacturer that can scale to meet global demand. The best thing about it: we use carbon dioxide as a feedstock. We have raised over $100m to date from top venture capital investors as well as in grant funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program. We are a growing team of experienced scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs from the DTU, Stanford, MIT (and more) who are passionate about revolutionizing the chemical industry. Join us in the fight against climate change.

What you’ll do

As a Mechanical Technician at our CO₂-to-acetic acid fermentation plant, you’ll support the mechanical systems and equipment critical to our operations. You will be hands-on in installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of rotating and static equipment. You’ll play an important role during both commissioning and steady-state operations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment including rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, agitators), piping systems, valves, and heat exchangers
  • Support mechanical commissioning activities and punch list resolution
  • Assist in developing and refining mechanical maintenance procedures
  • Work closely with engineers and contractors to ensure safe and reliable mechanical operations
  • Organize vendors for preventative maintenance and emergency repairs
  • Document maintenance activities and maintain mechanical integrity records
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts

About you:

  • Hands-on mechanical experience in chemical, process, or industrial plant environments
  • Familiarity with equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read P&IDs, Isometric drawings, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals
  • CAD skills are a plus
  • Basic understanding of safe work practices in a process plant environment
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance

What we promise you?

  • Health/dental/vision insurance, 401k match, company equity, performance bonus, PTO + sick leave, parental leave, disability benefits, life insurance, stocked kitchen
  • You get to work with a group of passionate scientists and engineers, working on challenging and meaningful projects
  • This will be the journey of a lifetime – we are serious about our mission to reduce over 1 gigaton of CO₂ and you can play a pivotal role in making that happen
  • We live by our company values: Relentless Grit, Unreasonably Ambitious, Unconventional Thinking, Critical Urgency
  • An inclusive, empowering and engaging work environment
